I drive through Livermore all the time and sadly, stop only for gas or a night stay if I'm hauling something. When I lived in the East Bay, I'd go to Livermore Valley for wine tasting. It is a great spot for it. Over the years, I've never experimented with grapes for the area either, favoring Lake or Mendocino county, as it's easier for me to get to. I know locals who still go check out Livermore for the day and I've always heard they had a great time. Good overview Dave, glad you highlighted Livermore.

Such a terrific piece, Dave. I have not yet visited the Livermore Valley, and my experience with the region’s wines are limited to those of Steven Kent Winery, but I’m bullish on this region, particularly as a flag-bearer for west coast Cabernet Franc. I’m hoping to get out there in 2027.
